Why Is John Douillard Important?

If you are not familiar with John Douillard, let me introduce him to you…

He is one of the western world’s most prolific teachers of Ayurveda, he has authored over fifteen books, CD’s and DVD’s, including The Three Season DietBody, Mind and Sport; and Perfect Health for Kids. He is the former director of player development for the NBA’s New Jersey Nets, and he co-directed an Ayurvedic center with Deepak Chopra for eight years. He is the creator of the LifeSpa Ayurvedic Skincare and Herbal Line and currently directs LifeSpa, an Ayurvedic Retreat Center.

Over the years, I’ve attended many Ayurvedic conferences and listened to many teachers. John Douillard is without a doubt one of the best. He is charismatic, entertaining, funny, and possesses a very real, practical and profound understanding of Ayurvedic medicine. Dr. Douillard has the gift of blending the deep and sometimes esoteric teachings of ayurveda and yoga, with an approach that is practical and effective for our modern day realities.

I have recommended his books to countless people over the years. The Three Season Diet is one of the better approaches to an Ayurvedic way of eating that I have seen. In my opinion, Perfect Health for Kids,  is a must have for every family with children. The pages of that book are well worn at our house. And Body, Mind and Sport speaks for itself. It is the most intelligent approach to excersise and atheletics that I have found.

For all of these reasons and more, we are thrilled to have Dr. Douillard as the newest teacher at MedicineCrow.com and one of the featured presenters at our live seminar coming up in May, MedicineCrow Live.
