RECIPE: Azul Probiotic Fenugreek Masque

If your skin is looking less than lively, try this gentle masque recipe. Blue chamomile restores a healthy oil balance and lessens inflammation, and rose otto beautifies and reduces redness. Sara Crow created it as an alternative to harsher exfoliation methods: “I’m not a fan of overdoing exfoliation. It sets up the complexion for hyper-pigmentation, reactivity and sensitivity, dryness, and some loss of barrier function. This masque gently dissolves surface dormant skin cells to reveal glowing skin.”

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Grind the fenugreek seeds in your coffee grinder or blender. Do not buy pre-ground seeds. Mix all ingredients and let sit for at least one hour; 2-3 hours is ideal for the masque to activate. Apply to face, neck, and décolletage and let sit for 30-45 minutes. You’ll find a radiant, life-filled complexion upon removal!

  1. I don’t have Rose Otto EO right now. Can another Rose oil or another oil be used in its place until I can get Rose Otto? Thank you.

      Hello Bonnie,

Rose would be the best option in this recipe, though if you aren’t able to get any, you could replace it with another soft floral.

  2. I would prefer to buy this already made as I do not have anything to grind the seeds with nor can I afford to pay $187.00 for the Rose Otto Essential oil.

      Hello Stephanie,

You could find ground fenugreek online if you do not have a coffee grindner (most popular choice for grinding seeds for herbal creations). You can also replace the rose with another soft floral essential oil or omit it.

  3. Since you suggest it maybe omitted, what is the role of Rose Otto EO in this masque? could you please suggest other soft floral EO that can be the substitute? Thank you.

Wonderfully cooling, rose otto creates and restores clear and lustrous skin. Because skin health can be disrupted by internal and external heat, rose otto can be very soothing. If you cannot use rose otto, we would recommend the options of using a lavender oil, more Chamomile, or Carrot Seed oil.

      Hope this helps!
